Doug Conner was the owner-operator of D.C. Gymnastics from 1981, when he founded it, until 2010, when he passed away.
Nikki Manikas is a recent graduate from Marist College, with a BA in English/Writing. She started doing gymnastics at the age of four, at the former Yury's School of Gymnastics in Albany. She finished her gymnastics career in 2004, competing as a level 10. She began working at DC in 2006, teaching preschool and instructional classes. During her four years at college she would return home on breaks and during the summers to work with general classes, summer camp, and team as needed. Since graduating, she is now co-head coach of the level 4 team with Nicole, and helps out with the optional levels. She has a professional membership in USA Gymnastics and is safety certified.
Jacob Michelena started doing gymnastics at the age of four. He competed for DC Gymnastics and finished at level 10. Jacob has been coaching for six years and coaching the DC Stars for 4 years. He coaches levels 4-9. He has a professional membership in USA Gymnastics and is safety certified.
Nicole Morse started gymnastics at the age of eight. She took instructional classes for three years until she was invited to the DC Stars competitive team. She competed up until the age of sixteen, finishing as a level 8 gymnast. Nicole began teaching gymnastics while she was still competing - as an assistant coach for three years with summer camp, preschool, and instructional classes. She then transitioned into teaching the preschool and instructional classes on her own. After coaching the instructional classes for five years, Nicole became an assistant coach for the level 4 and 5 competitive teams in 2005. She is now co-head coach of levels 4 and 5 with Nikki. Outside of DC, Nicole is currently attending the College of St. Rose, in Albany, where she is earning her Master's degree in Accounting. She has a professional membership in USA Gymnastics and is safety certified.
Sarah Sepp is a graduate of Brooklyn College with a BA in English and Education, and is a certified English teacher. She started doing gymnastics at the age of seven at Nova Gymnastics in Brooklyn, and finished as a level 8. Before relocating to Albany, Sarah taught gymnastics at Nova Gymnastics for six years. Alongside gymnastics coaching, Sarah taught trapeze and dance classes. Since she joined DC Gymnastics over the summer of 2011, she has been a team coach, an instructional coach, as well as a preschool instructor. She has a professional membership in USA Gymnastics and is safety certified.
